A key goal of ICIS is to communicate a new philosophy and approach to infrastructure that is systems oriented and integrates multiple perspectives and interests. On a practical level, ICIS communicates face-to-face through presentations at national infrastructure-related conferences, workshops, and seminars as well as through active outreach to a variety of boards, commissions, professional associations and committees in many sectors. Electronically, ICIS uses web sites, electronic newsletters, and listserves to disseminate innovative thinking and new knowledge to the civil infrastructure systems community. ICIS also serves a networking function in order to promote dialogue and communication within and among the members of this community.
