Zvia Naphtali

Research Scientist, Clinical Professor of Public Administration, NYU

Zvia Segal Naphtali, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Public Administration at the Wagner School. She is teaching a number of courses on spatial analysis and statistical mapping, including (1) Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Planning: (2) Advanced GIS (to be offered in Spring 2005) (3) Mapping (GIS) for Health Care Professionals; and (4) Designing, Conducting, and Analyzing Surveys and Interviews. Most recently, Dr. Naphtali served as the Data Manager at the New York City Nonprofits Project of Community Studies of NY Inc./Infoshare. In this project she was involved in a groundbreaking survey of the New York City Nonprofits, extending a 1990 study on the nonprofit sector. The findings of the study have been published as a report and as a Service Atlas on www.nycnonprofits.org. Dr. Naphtali is the founder and president of Resource Mobilization Inc., a consulting firm established in 1982 specializing in statistical and demographic data analysis and GIS mapping applications. In recent years, Prof. Naphtali has been making GIS presentations at conferences and universities in the US and in Israel.
